About Mission

  1. About us
  2. About Mission

The Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN was established in Jakarta, on October 2012. The Mission aims to bolster ASEAN-Korea relations encompassing political-security, as well as, economic and socio-cultural pillars. The Mission has proactively engaged in ASEAN-led regional mechanisms such as PMC (Post Ministerial Conference), APT (ASEAN Plus the Republic of Korea, China and Japan), EAS (East Asia Summit), ARF (ASEAN Regional Forum), and ADMM+ (ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus).

Jakarta is the de facto ASEAN capital where the ASEAN Secretariat is located. In collaboration with 10 ASEAN member states and 10 dialogue partners, the Mission has explored ways to move forward under the goal of contributing to the ASEAN Community Building process by 2025 as envisioned in the ASEAN Vision 2025.

ASEAN is a youthful and dynamic region with great potential. In pursuit of a true partnership, the Mission will help the relationship between ASEAN and Korea grow stronger and closer.
