Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN

Ambassador Lee Jang-keun attended the ”2024 KACPE International Public Policy Symposium on Strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Korea & ASEAN for Shared Future Development“ held in Bangkok on Friday, 30 August.

In his congratulatory remarks, Ambassador Lee highlighted the importance of the ASEAN-ROK relationship and the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to come in October on the 35th anniversary of ASEAN and Korea‘s Dialogue relations.

Ambassador Lee also stressed the important role of Thailand, as ASEAN’s country coordinator of Korea for the next three years, in advancing the ASEAN-KOREA partnership.

Following his remarks, Ambassador Lee had a TV interview with Thai PBS and National Broadcasting Services of Thailand to reiterate his pleasure in being in Thailand, Korea‘s country coordinator since early this month, and his expectations for the ASEAN-Korea CSP.

The Symposium was organized by Korea Research Initiatives of the University of New South Wales, the Thai Office of the Public Sector Development Commission, the Humanities Research Institute of Chung-Ang University, the International Studies Center of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and sponsored by the Korea Foundation and ASEAN Foundation.
