1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the “2018 Korea-Japan-China Trilateral Cooperation Workshop for Public Officials” in Sokcho, Gangwon-do, on October 25 and 26.

° The forthcoming event, the sixth of its kind since the first held in 2012, will bring together some 90 people, including international relations officials at provincial governments of the Republic of Korea; as well as public officials from Japan and the People's Republic of China working or studying in the ROK.

2. At the Workshop, the Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat will deliver a lecture on “the past, present and future of trilateral cooperation.”

° The event will also feature a lecture on cooperation in Northeast Asia; presentations by public officials of the three countries on cases of cooperation among provincial government agencies of the three countries; and attending a performance of traditional instrumental music of the three countries.

3. The Workshop, which will come amid much interest of public officials of the ROK, Japan and China, will consist of a lecture on trilateral cooperation and presentations on cases of cooperation among provincial governments of the three countries, serving as an opportunity for discussions on a desirable future of trilateral cooperation among the ROK, Japan and China as well as specific and practical ways for that.

4. The ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects the forthcoming event to serve as an opportunity for public officials of the ROK, Japan and China to step up communication with and better understand one another, and build tight networks among them.
