1. The Republic of Korea Consulate-General in Hong Kong, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the ROK as well as the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong, will hold a “Festive Korea” event from October 5 till November 27. The event, which was first held in 2011 and marks the sixth of its kind in 2016, has become the signature Korean cultural festival in Hong Kong over the past five years.

2. The “Festive Korea” event will consist of a variety of programs, including performances of the ROK’s non-verbal “Jump” as well as those by the ROK’s ballet and traditional dance troupes; joint concerts by classical musicians of the ROK and Hong Kong; exhibitions on design, typography and modern Korean craft arts; promotion of Hansik (Korean food), Korean-made animation characters, tourism packages, and merchandises produced by the ROK’s small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), among others; and the “Mega K Music Festival 2016” featuring popular Hallyu (Korean Wave, or the popularity of K-pop culture abroad) stars.
